Refund Policy

1. Overview

This Refund Policy describes how and when Laxu AI ("we," "us," "our") issues refunds for paid subscriptions and one-time purchases made through our website (laxuai.com) or our mobile applications. By purchasing a subscription or product from Laxu AI, you agree to the terms set out below.

This policy applies to purchases made directly through our website. Purchases made through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store are subject to the refund policies of those platforms, not this policy.

2. 7-Day Refund Window for New Subscriptions

If you purchase a new subscription to Laxu AI through our website, you may request a full refund within 7 days of your initial purchase date, provided you have not made significant use of the paid features (e.g., generated a substantial volume of flashcards, quizzes, podcasts, or AI tutor sessions beyond what is offered on the free tier).

After the 7-day window has passed, refund requests will be considered on a case-by-case basis at our sole discretion.

3. Subscription Renewals

Subscriptions to Laxu AI automatically renew at the end of each billing cycle (weekly, monthly, or yearly, depending on your selected plan) unless you cancel before the renewal date.

Renewal charges are generally non-refundable. If you do not wish to be charged for a renewal, please cancel your subscription before the renewal date. You can cancel at any time from your account settings on laxuai.com.

As a courtesy, we may issue a refund for a renewal charge if you contact us within 72 hours of the charge and have not actively used the service during that billing cycle. Such refunds are at our discretion.

4. Cancellation vs. Refund

Cancelling your subscription is not the same as requesting a refund:

  • Cancellation stops future renewals. You will continue to have access to paid features until the end of your current billing period, but you will not be charged again.
  • Refund returns money for a charge that has already been made, subject to the conditions in this policy.

If you want both — to stop future charges and to receive a refund for the most recent charge — please request both explicitly when contacting us.

5. Non-Refundable Situations

Refunds will generally not be issued in the following situations:

  • Requests made more than 7 days after a new subscription purchase, except in extenuating circumstances at our discretion.
  • Renewal charges where notice was given of the upcoming renewal and the user did not cancel.
  • Accounts that have violated our Terms and Conditions or Acceptable Use Policy.
  • Accounts that have been used to generate a substantial volume of AI content during the billing period in question.
  • Partial-period refunds for unused time on an active subscription that you choose to cancel mid-cycle.
  • Promotional, discounted, or free-trial-converted subscriptions, except where required by law.

6. Special Circumstances

We may issue refunds outside the standard window in the following situations:

  • Duplicate charges — If you were charged more than once for the same subscription, we will refund the duplicate charges in full.
  • Unauthorized charges — If your account or payment method was used without your authorization, please contact us immediately so we can investigate.
  • Significant service outages — If a major technical issue prevented you from using the service for an extended period, we may offer a pro-rated refund or service credit at our discretion.
  • Statutory rights — Where local consumer protection law (e.g., EU Consumer Rights Directive, UK Consumer Rights Act) grants you a stronger refund right than this policy, that legal right applies in addition to this policy.

7. How to Request a Refund

To request a refund, please email us at contact@laxuai.com with the following information:

  • The email address associated with your Laxu AI account
  • The date and amount of the charge you would like refunded
  • The reason for your refund request
  • (Optional) The order or receipt ID from your payment confirmation email

We aim to respond to all refund requests within 2 business days.

8. Refund Processing Time

Once a refund is approved, the amount will be returned to your original payment method. Processing times depend on your payment provider and typically take:

  • Credit / debit cards: 5–10 business days to appear on your statement
  • PayPal: 1–3 business days
  • Other payment methods: May vary depending on the provider

If you have not received your refund after 10 business days following our approval, please contact us and we will investigate.

9. Chargebacks

We strongly encourage you to contact us directly before initiating a chargeback with your bank or card issuer. Most disputes can be resolved quickly through email, and chargebacks may result in your account being suspended pending investigation.

10. Mobile App Purchases

If you purchased a Laxu AI subscription through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, your refund must be requested directly from Apple or Google. We do not have the ability to issue refunds for purchases made through those platforms.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Effective Date." Changes do not apply retroactively to refund requests for purchases made before the change.
